The hardest part of my job was trying to take a break/lunch, If there are patients waiting I hate to stop my workflow to take a break/lunch, even though there is another technologist to help with the patients it would be done quicker if there were two of us. We all worked very well together and the work was shared. I did have some Lead Technologist duties, such as inventory and interviewing job applicants after initial interview with my managers. I also learned Spanish, a good portion of my patients were spanish speaking it was very rewarding to be able to communicate with them. I learned coping skills to deal with a stressful and busy working environment and how time management is very important to be successful. If you absolutely need a job, take a chance and work for this company, but get out quick or you will get burned!!Ī typical day at work would consist of three to four fluoroscopy studies followed by at least 20-30 patients (sometimes more). Male techs and female techs are treated differently by the management and paid differently too. The manager routinely threatens you with your job and plays favoritism with the staff. The pay is awful, there is no organization and no advancement with the company. In 2019 the same manager still handles the N.C. Which is why, I believe, they changed their name. Their reputation in the medical field and with MRI technologists hit rock bottom, and they were forced to leave the area.

Basically they were charging top dollar prices for their services and producing substandard imaging in the areas students and new graduates covered. They started hiring MRI students and new graduates with no experience and put them in high volume work environments, the result was, they lost contracts left and right.

Within a month I completely understood why everyone left, the company management and the local managers were nothing but lying back biting, back stabbing snakes.

I was offered a Full Time position but took PRN instead, just to help the company out until more staff could be hired. At that time I was an experienced MRI Tech with 8 years hospital experience. Insight had just lost 70 to 80% of their staff, they simply walked off the job. Unfortunately, the cons here outweigh the pros by - more. I'd advise you to look elsewhere, though. The entire environment is a complete mess! So, if you like to work hard for little to no recognition from absent leaders, go ahead and apply. Therefore, she unloads tons of responsibility on the new MRI manager (who happens to live hours away from the sites he manages, too!) The inefficiency is just too much and the employees deserve SO much more than what they get, especially respect and gratitude for the wonderful job they do in the midst of such chaos. She lives and works states away from the sites she manages and MRI isn't even her specialty. Honestly, the worst part of the job is the regional manager who sits high on a throne of miscommunication and egoism. The current manager is an amazing tech but lacks consistent communication and leadership skills, which leads to a chaotic work environment that upholds every site's complete lack of morale. Thankfully, the previous MRI manager (who played severe favorites & would throw you under the bus in a heartbeat without warning) quit in 2019, leaving us all with the hope that the micro-managing would subside. The HR department was on point, as well.Ĭons: MANAGEMENT! !! (MRI/medical imaging in the Southeast region, in particular.) The "leaders" in this region are the most unprofessional, back stabbing, and conniving individuals ever. (Although, some of my other coworkers were NOT compensated fairly.) Corporate in MN always seemed ready to help, especially with advancement opportunities.
